Tamara Akiona brings over two decades of real estate experience to Island Sotheby’s International Realty, shaped by a lifelong connection to Maui and a career rooted in service, trust, and long-term thinking.

Raised on Maui and a graduate of Lahainaluna High School, Tamara’s approach to real estate is grounded in local relationships, practical experience, and a deep respect for the communities she serves. She is known for helping clients navigate complex decisions with clarity, care, and a steady presence — particularly during moments of transition.

Tamara works closely with the Ethan Kaleiopu Group, where collaboration and shared expertise are central to every client experience. Within the team, she brings a strong focus on client advocacy, communication, and the human side of real estate — ensuring that each transaction reflects both thoughtful strategy and personal priorities.

Beyond her real estate work, Tamara is a founding leader of Hawai‘i Housing Resilience, a nonprofit created in response to the 2023 Maui wildfires. Through financial coaching and housing education, she remains deeply committed to supporting local families as they rebuild stability and plan for the future. This work informs her belief that real estate should serve not only as an investment, but as a foundation for family and community.
